Will a smaller rear sprocket give my bike better gas mileage?

Sunday, May 25th, 2008
Jamie J asked:

Will a smaller rear sprocket give my bike better gas mileage? Woulden’t it take more power to turn at the same speed therefore more gas.

Its harder to pedal in higher gears on a bicycle.
im thinking a smaller sprocket would be a higher gear and lower rpm’s. but it takes more power to run it, therefore more gas. Its harder to pedal a bicycle in a high gear.

Save gas money with HOMEMADE additives? Experiment (Part 1)

Saturday, May 17th, 2008
Mefoo007 asked:

This is Video 1 in the experiment to get better gas milage MPG and save money by using HOMEmade additives that you yourself can make at home with very little effort. I am running some control test for mpg and then experiment with a Homemade gas additive formula and compare and review the differences. (Part 1)

DO NOT go adding chemicals to your gas tank. DO YOUR research before you do ANYTHING!! This is NOT a guide! I am NOT a scientest, it is only a video log of my experimentations and findings.

google water4gas to get some good info for starters on saving gas milage.

stopspucks88 asked:

I love my CRV, it’s 2000 model, V4 engine. I’ve had it for almost four years and in that time have put 60,000 miles on it. Now I realize I drive A LOT, but I need better gas mileage. Currently I get about 21 mpg in the city, 24 highway. Can I hope for better?

Is it bad for my transmission if I shift into a high gear while habing the speed and RPMs low to save gas?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
Jarrett asked:

I ask because my friend who was in the passenger seat saw me shift into 4th gear while I was only going 40 kilometers(dont know what it is is in miles, maybe 28 or so?). He made the comment that I’m going to ruin my transmission going to such a high gear with the speed that low. I do this normally just to watch my speed and to save gas, is this bad? Should I indeed shift when the RPMs hit around 3? Thanks in advance for everyones input.
