Doesn’t anyone read reports on proven ways to save gas? Does anyone care?

martyhorn asked:

Back in the 70’s I believe we DID have a national speed limit. Those of you who don’t think driving 55 or 60 will save gas probably don’t know how to read. Any publication that discusses saving gas, such as Consumers Report or Popular Science and many other intelligent publications will inform you that these speeds DO save fuel. Unless, of course you don’t give a _ _ _ _ about our Country.

They can travel to and from the camp without driving or towing a large RV and the large the camping unit - the more the savings!

Not that I would do this, because it is not safe. But I was curious. What’s the distance at 60MPH? at 70MPH? Behind a truck? behind a van? behind a sedan? And how much gas would one save?
