But the problem is that many people who drive a manual, don’t know what they are doing. So in actual practice most automatics gets better MPG - not worse.

Think about this: MSNBC reported that you can save up to 38% depending on driving habits. That will easily make up for the slight difference in auto vs. manual ****** gas mileage.
