Can I save gas by cruising to lights on neutral?

I was thinking about doing this thing where when I am about to stop at a light ahead of me, I put my car in neutral and cruise to the light and eventually stop. Then I stay there in neutral until the light is about to turn green again. Can this help save gas?

it will but not much, and in california it is illegal to coast in neutral.

The other hand it is actually hypermiler trick on the other hand it can also be dangerous if you annoy the other drivers too much.
