David asked: I have a 2001 dodge durango. I have upgraded the airfilter and the exhaust(both of which give a beautiful sound to the truck). These options should have given better gas mileage but i dont see it. It is properly taken care of, ..oil changes, ect..ect.. Any other ideas?
All stock tires and rims
Oil is replaced regularly as needed
…keep it under 2,000 rpms? Almost impossible for a durango, they are naturally fast trucks and rpms shoot up when accelerating(this does not mean i put the peddle to the floor when i accelerate)

hopeprn1 asked: Given that the Hybrid car can have it’s batteries and electric motor taken out and get better mileage, since it is lighter by about 1000 lbs. Would it not be simply up to statistics that you might save enough gas at stop lights and brakeing to make up for hauling around the extra 1000 lbs all day?

zorrotheliberator asked: The Geo Metro in the 1980’s got the same 50 miles to the gallon as the current hybrids. I was told it was the government which doesn’t want to lose revenues on gas sales due to better mileage.

Tori asked: Does Nitrogen in tires save gas mileage?
AND are there any DOWN-sides to it?
My husband has a fleet of trucks all over the US his employees are asking permission to switch the tires to Nitrogen to regulate the tire pressure - therefore saving gas $$ for the company.
Is this correct?
Is this safe?
Are there any negatives?
